This gymnasium was built when the public school was on the South Hill. After the new high school and grade school opened on the North Hill in 1941 the building fell into only occasional use and disrepair. When I was in grade school a traveling company would arrive on the weekends with roller skates and recorded organ music. That was a lot of fun. Otherwise we would hitch-hike to Kennedy Ford nearer to Potlatch to go roller skating.
