The
designers were surely inspired with the Mark V, not a single
wasted line. Not one unnecessary piece of chrome. Everything
in proper perspective, exactly where it belonged. Cars of this size aren't easily described as graceful, but one only has to observe a Mark V floating down the highway at speed to understand that these are indeed graceful automobiles. And if you are fortunate enough to be sitting behind the wheel, the view from inside is just as
spectacular as the view from outside. The Lincoln Continental Mark V was built in the days when real cars had chrome bumpers... not rubber baby-buggy bumpers. The interior is plush and quiet. The 400 cubes in the engine provide plenty of power to surge ahead of the crowd. You have to drive this car to realize just how nimble and yet powerful it is. This is the car for the man who likes luxury cut large... no wimpy little import fighters, please! This 1979 Lincoln Mark V has had excellent care and maintenance, with only 73,000 miles on the odometer in 30 years. It's huge... but it is also sleek and agile. Thirty years from now people will look at this car in amazement. They just won't make them like this anymore. |
