MECHANICAL VOICES

Artificial, mechanical voices
Assault my critical ear,

We've had these electronic noises
For many a recent year,

Distinctly, they rise and fall
With synthetic natural inflections,

Tiny spaces are heard between
Computer-generated directions,

Some of the automatic answerers
Appeal to my social peer group,

But other menus go 'round and 'round --
You're caught in an endless loop.
