BUTCH THE COUGAR

Let us now remember Washington State
College -- it was not Wazzu,

A formerly wild animal named "Butch"
Became the mascot with little ado,

This was a time in the forties, my friend --
A snarling cougar was the school's official logo,

It was made from the letters "W-S-C" --
Adorned sweaters wherever you'd go,

Nowadays the school has grown immensely --
It's named Washington State University, too,

The ball teams these days play big schools like the Huskies --
Butch's logo is formed from "W-S-U."
