Seldom do you find a 15 year old car with 58,000 miles on it that has been given the most careful care and maintenance. This blue '88 Reatta, one of only 4,708 made, is in incrediblely nice condition. The Reatta is a limited production car and was positioned as a luxury two-place car with a combination of sporty and aerodynamic styling, nimble handling and a comfortable and quiet "Buick ride". The 3800 V-6 with the four-speed automatic transmission was the only powertrain offered. This two passenger coupe also has the rare suede leather seats. It is just about perfection. And, it drives out just like it looks. WDM

The Reatta was the only two-seat passenger car that Buick ever produced. The $30,000 price tag was designed to attract drivers who wanted a sporty car such as the Corvette, but who preferred more luxury, room and comfort. It was not a sports car, but a luxury coupe built in limited volume on a 98.5" wheelbase.

All Reattas were built in a special assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan called the "Reatta Craft Center" from 1988 - 1991. They were marketed as a "Hand Crafted Car." Instead of the usual moving assembly line, GM organized its work force into small teams. Workers performed dozens of tasks on the cars at various locations known as "Craft Stations," within the plant. The cars were carried between locations by computer-guided carts.

The Reatta was the most expensive Buick made at the time. (Around $30,000) The car did not sell well because of the expensive price tag. Buick ceased production at the end of the 1991 model year. Because of the unique capabilities of the Reatta Craft Center, the plant has been renamed and is now called the Lansing Craft Center. It is being utilized for the manufacture of an electric car based on the high-performance impact show car.

For power the Reatta has a 3.8 Litre V6-165 horsepower sequential fuel injection engine and a four speed automatic transmission with front wheel drive. Every power and luxury option Buick had to offer was standard equipment.
